What is enlivenIT?
Have you ever had the feeling that you weren’t sure if you were coming or going?
Do you have a backlog of activities or projects or tasks that you can’t quite get to because of all of the meetings and appointments and practices and obligations and and and…?
At least that is how it feels. – Take a breath – it’s going to be OK.
Everything takes time.
Our world is extremely busy. Most people are overbooked and have little margin in their lives.
Because of this, they live in the chaos of life. They move through messy rooms, messy jobs, messy situations and messy relationships.
Given time we can bring order into each area of our lives. Order helps us to be more efficient and productive. In addition it helps bring a sense of peace to our lives.
This isn’t just about good time management or being organized, although that helps. It is the ability to say no to doing EVERYTHING.
We must say no to the things in life that pull us from our purpose. They are not all bad, but they all take time.
Would it surprise you to hear that the thing that is hardest to say no to is the good thing that you want to be a part of? It sounds so interesting and fun, but it takes you away from focusing on what helps you accomplish your goal or purpose.
Understanding what not to do, as much as what to do, helps bring clarity. And clarity allows us to see the next step in our journey.
Everything takes time. We can’t do everything.
What can more time or increased margin do for us? It allows us to be better listeners which in turn brings understanding.
Better understanding allows for better communication and relationships. Why? Because we create the time to be more patient and tolerant of others.
We have the time to do good to others. To share with them something that only we can do, we share ourselves.
Margin also gives us the space to do what we already know needs to be done. We can take the time to move that information into action.
A few years ago, I was on a downward spiral. The pressure from jobs, school, family and personal conflict had me overwhelmed.
I was making progress, but due to the number of things I was working on, it was slow progress. Eventually, it led to my being let go from a job of almost 20 years.
I described this out-processing in an alliterated list – blitzkrieg, bullied, beaten, broken, betrayed, banished and… beautiful. This process took about 18 months.
Truly, I did not realize it was going on. Sure, I had moments of anxiety and depression through it. But I just kept working, trying to keep moving to break through.
After my time was opened up for me, I was able to slowly begin to process things. In the end, I was able to find beauty in the brokenness.
This came about as I had time to reflect. I came to realize that God is always true to His word.
Margin is a gift that allows us to make the connections we need in life. Connections to God and to others.
Everything takes time. We create time for what is most important to us. What is most important to you?
So, back to the question. What is enlivenIT? Let me break it down.
enliven: to give life, action, or spirit to
The “IT” is something that is important to you. Important enough for you to invest the time and focus needed to produce the intended results (i.e. health, career, finance, relationships, spiritual life).
enlivenIT is about coming alongside people to move information into action.
How do we do this? enlivenIT provides the right system, support, and accountability to make each step inevitable. We do this through coaching, consulting and courses.
What is important enough for you to invest in yourself? Is it getting clarity on what you want? Increasing productivity? Experiencing more peace?
Maybe it is losing a few pounds, increasing your energy or creating healthier habits? Whatever “IT” is we would love to help you enlivenIT.
